I visit the east end alot because my family is there. So sometimes (MANY) times I get to eat at delicious and unique restaurants that can never be found in my neck of the woods. One of these gems is called Vi Pei Bistro.
Vi Pei Bistro’s three locations are located on Kingston Road, and one is located in Stouffville. I always passed the two on Kingston Road as they are close to my parents’ place, and always stared longingly at them as I whizzed by. I had read and saw pictures of their food offerings on their website before and had made it a mission to try it out – Finally did in Stouffville! (Yes, I know Kingston Road locations would be more convenient).
There is nothing flashy about Vi Pei Bistro except for fine food quality they offer their customers! Their restaurants are unassuming, comfortable for the average every day person (like me). Just look at my eggs benedict with cajun chicken I had at Vi Pei’s Stouffville location:
My Cajun Chicken Eggs Benedict was a breakfast special. My plate was so appetizing looking when the waitress placed it in front of me. As you can see from my plate, my meal also included grilled veggies, roast potatoes, a salad, and fresh fruit. The chicken was very spicy, but the egg and hollandaise sauce seemed to neutralize the spicyness. It went well together. The egg wasn’t too runny which was great! It wasn’t even expensive at all. If I recall, my eggs benedict brunch was only $13 or $14 dollars.
My daughter had the Crab Cake Eggs Benedict from the same breakfast specials. Too bad I didn’t take a picture, it was just as great. Reminded me of the delicious breakfasts we had in New Orleans.
I have to deduct points for their coffee and tea though. And the service was a bit strange… But I won’t hold these against this restaurant just because I really enjoyed my breakfast. Looking forward to try lunch and dinner one day.
