We had originally planned on trying All Grill (near Square One) for lunch yesterday. But I guess we were too early at 11:30 am as the restaurant was still closed. And we were starving, so we didn’t want to wait until it opened. We decided to go to Orchard Family Restaurant just a few minutes down the street.
Orchard Family Restaurant has been around for years and is very established in Mississauga. Its a regular diner type restaurant and I think mostly regular, local customers come here. This place is always busy. I have tried the restaurant a couple of times. I think of Orchard as a breakfast place, but they serve all kinds of comfort food and the prices are very reasonable.
My daughter ordered the special of the day – chili smothered over mashed potatoes, plus a side order of cole slaw. She said it was okay, but there was too much potato and not enough chili. She should’ve ordered the regular bowl of chili.
I ordered from the breakfast menu – steak and eggs (included home fries and toast). I had my two eggs sunny side up. It was a generous piece of sirloin steak. I would’ve preferred it to be medium cooked instead of well done. But it still tasted not bad.
I think the waitress overcharged me about $5.00 on my meal. (My bill should’ve been about $31 instead of $36). I didn’t make a big deal about it. We only come here on occasion when we get a craving for something simple and we don’t want to drive too far.
