Obsession For Pho!

Mississauga has delicious pho restaurants. It was only about a year ago that my daughter and I discovered and obtained an obsession for pho. We are nuts – we practically eat pho almost every day! Mind you, pho is very inexpensive…more economically beneficial for just the two of us.

The pho places we frequent are Pho Mi 99 and Golden Turtle. My daughter is getting pretty self conscious because shes visiting Golden Turtle for lunch every week, and then we would drop in for dinner. LOL. I think she is more crazed about it than I am.

We used to frequent the Pho Mi 99 at Grand Park. But lately we have discovered the Pho Mi 99 at the Hurontario/Eglinton plaza. This one is much cleaner and I personally I find the food is better prepared.

Our favourite dishes are the rare beef and tendon pho and the jumbo shrimp on rice. Golden Turtle makes a really good Pad Thai noodle dish, and Pho Mi 99 has a really good Fried Rice Noodle with Beef and Vegetables.

Plus they serve delicious milkshakes, and Golden Turtle has bubble tea.

I don’t know why it took me so long to discover Pho, but I’m so glad I finally did!

I really like the Pho Dau Bo on Dundas and Constitution. Their pho is pretty good but it’s their spring rolls that I think are the best in Mississauga. Dish # 468 is really good too if you want to have rice.

As for Golden Turtle, my friend said he found a finger nail in his soup one time and another time, a piece of metal. Personally, I’ve never had issues at Golden Turtle but I don’t think their pho is that good.

    • I haven’t been going for pho lately, but Golden Turtle was our main pho place. But eewww that’s disappointing to hear about Golden Turtle, I’ve never found anything weird in my food. I have to admit, the last time I was there, the guy was really stingy with the pho, and gave me a very small amount of noodles. I complained to him, and he barely topped it up. After that, I lost my desire to eat there again, just because of that one waiter’s stingy service, even though I am a regular there and always give good tips.
